If a blower is installed, remove the blower prior to replacing the rear heat shield.

STEP1: To replace the heat shield you will remove the 8 screws on the back panel of the stove. These are removed using a 5/32" hex key tool:

STEP 2: Once the back panel is removed, you will find that the heat shield is hanging on the back of the stove via 4 tabs that are inserted into slots:

STEP 3: The top 2 tabs are bent to lock the shield in place. You may need to straighten them, then you can simply lift the shield up and off the stove.

STEP 4: The new back panel design will have the heat shield pre-installed to the back panel. Install the new back panel using the 8 bolts that were removed during step 1.

Step 5: Using a 3/32" drill bit, remove the serial tag from the old panel and rivet it to the new pane using 3/32" rivets.

Re-install the blower if needed.
